Inspired by core Indigenous values of Love, Compassion, and Courage, our school’s mission is to remove the barriers that prevent love: love of self and love of others, and to heal the dysfunction and poor health inherited in our ancestral lineage. We recognize that true economic freedom or our fullest human potential cannot occur without adequate support for the latest holistic health education and healing in our communities.

Through practices that transform the energy of trauma and suffering into compassion and understanding, we work to end the transmission and experience of intergenerational trauma—both epigenetically and behaviorally in our daily lives.

As Indigenous female leaders, we’ve healed generational wounds and created lives of purpose. Now we’re helping others rise and thrive.

  • Danielle Forward, Founder and CEO of Natives Rising, is an Indigenous holistic hypnotherapist, Master NLP practitioner, coach, and human-centered design expert.

    Drawing from her personal journey of healing 30 years of chronic anxiety and intergenerational trauma, Danielle developed the FEEL method—a scalable, self-coaching framework blending Western science-backed practices with an Indigenous holistic approach, forming the backbone of the curriculum at the School of Intergenerational Healing.

    Her career at Meta honed her expertise in designing user-centered, scalable solutions, which she now applies to create innovative models of holistic empowerment.

    Danielle’s unique combination of relatable lived experience, trauma-informed practices, and product design innovation positions her as the ideal leader to drive Natives Rising’s transformative mission forward.

  • The School of Intergenerational Healing is designed by and for Indigenous women who want to recondition their nervous system for more joy, peace, and vitality. While we focus mainly on women-only programs, we offer all-gender and non-Native cohorts available on demand. We mainly serve:

    • Women feeling burned out, anxious, or emotionally flat

    • Women managing chronic health issues or stress-related illness

    • Women who feel strong on the outside, but exhausted inside

    • Women ready to feel joy, connection, and vitality again

  • No. The School of Intergenerational Healing and our 4-step FEEL method is for anyone with a nervous system that feels off—whether from trauma, burnout, anxiety, relationship stress, chronic stress, or just life in a society that demands too much.

  • No. Our 4-week program where we teach our original FEEL Method is not therapy—it’s a self-healing practice rooted in neuroscience, somatics, and Indigenous values. You don’t need a diagnosis or therapist to participate. Many women use our 4-step process alongside therapy or other healing tools, but it stands on its own as a nervous system reconditioning method.

  • No. We don’t ask you to relive or retell painful stories.

    While trauma may explain how our nervous systems got wired for survival mode, we don’t focus on the past—we recondition your body and mind to feel safe and more relaxed in the present.

    Our 4-step FEEL process is about what’s happening now in your thoughts, feelings, body, and focus—and how to shift that toward peace.

  • Our program was created by Indigenous women, for Indigenous women. Using an innovative hybrid model, we combine the best of Western neuroscience with Indigenous cultural understanding and values to create profound results.

    The School of Intergenerational Healing and our original 4-step FEEL Method are Indigenous not because they use ceremony or language from one nation, but because they are grounded in Indigenous cultural understanding: everything is relational, systemic, interconnected, and that healing in community helps to restore balance in the body, heart, mind, and spirit.

    Unlike traditional Western medicine or therapy that often pathologizes unpleasant emotional or physical states, we see those states as signs of imbalance in the nervous system and neurology. We do not separate the emotional from the physical, nor the personal from the economic.

    We also teach epigenetics — essentially using the language of Western science to describe the generational interconnectedness that Indigenous people have always understood.

    Our approach is inspired by traditional teachings and values: the Seven Grandfather Teachings (love, courage, wisdom, humility, respect, truth, honesty), the Seven Lakota Values (Wisdom Wóksape, Fortitude Wowačíŋtaŋka, Generosity Wačáŋtognaka, Respect Waóhola, Bravery, Humility Waówahwala, and Compassion Wówauŋšila), and Pomo values of generosity and reciprocity.

    Through the FEEL Method, we build strong relationships with these values within us and around us — restoring balance and reconnecting with what makes us whole.

  • Our 4-step FEEL Method—developed by our Indigenous founder & hypnotherapist Danielle Forward—is based on evidence-backed practices from neuroscience, somatic psychology, and trauma research. We incorporate:

    • 🫀 Heart coherence breathwork & HRV

    • 💭 Mental rehearsal + visualization

    • 🙏🏽 Gratitude-based neuroplasticity

    • 🧘🏽‍♀️ Somatic awareness + polyvagal-informed tools

    These have all been shown to reduce anxiety, lower cortisol, improve immune function, and retrain the brain toward positive emotional states. Our 4-step FEEL method weaves them together into a culturally grounded, simple daily practice.

  • Yes. Chronic stress and unresolved survival mode drive inflammation and worsen most illnesses—from autoimmune flares to gut issues, chronic pain, hormonal imbalance, and fatigue. Research shows

    While FEEL is not a medical treatment, participants often report:

    • Less pain and tension

    • More energy and clarity

    • Better sleep

    • Calmer digestion

    • Fewer emotional crashes

    This is because FEEL helps lower cortisol, boost oxytocin, and regulate your nervous system, creating the internal conditions where healing becomes more possible.

  • 2-Day Retreats: Our retreats are often 2 days in person or online with 4-6 hours of live instruction and group interaction.

    4-Week Immersive Program: Our virtual program runs for 4 weeks, with weekly live sessions (which are recorded), short daily prompts, and optional community connection.

    The FEEL practice itself takes as little as 5-10 minutes a day—and can be done anywhere, anytime.

    Monthly Workshops: We will offer monthly meditations that last 45-60 minutes.

    Hosted Workshops: We can offer custom in-person hosted workshops at your location on request.

  • We will offer some free monthly classes, free resources, as well as scholarships and sliding-scale pricing for our paid retreats, due to the kindness of our donors. As a 501c3 nonprofit, we can offer scholarships and flexible payment plans to ensure cost is never a barrier for our retreats, while still making things sustainable for us as an organization.
